Employee Spotlight: Daniel Eggleston

Here at Laser Central, there’s no one more important than our employees. We are proud to showcase our talented and dedicated team through our monthly Employee Spotlight. This month’s spotlight will be on Daniel Eggleston one of our awesome laser operators.

How long have you worked at Laser Central?

Just coming up to a year.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

Just be yourself. Starting a new job is quite nerve racking and you feel the need to kinda impress everybody, but just be yourself.

If you could have dinner with any person, living or dead, who would it be and why?

Probably Peter Brock. I am a huge motor sports fan, I’d want some driving tips.

What is something that you’re good at, that usually surprises people?

Gaming – Sim racing. I’m currently am in the top 1% world-wide for Forza Motorsport. I got the full cockpit with steering wheel and everything. I’ve been doing this for 8 or 9 years. I started back on XBOX360 on Forza Motorsport 2 and we’re up to 7.

What meme best describes you?

I don’t know, I don’t really keep up to date with memes. I don’t use them at all. Use your words, not pictures.

When was the last time you laughed out loud?

Yesterday. Sam and I in tube were listening to podcasts when we were at work, and they were all comedy podcasts. We were listening to ‘How did this get made’ which is about three actors going on about how bad movies are and why they got made.

What song is the anthem of your life?

I grew up listening to like ACDC and punk rock. I’d have to say Pennywise – Bro Hym.

What is your favourite food?

Chinese. I love Chinese food, I can’t go past honey chicken and fried rice.

What actor would like to play as you in a movie?

Will Ferrell, he’s got weird looks like me and he likes to have fun.

What is your dream holiday?

I’d love to go to Europe. A six-month tour following the Formula One.

If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?

Gold Fish, because of the short-term memory. You wouldn’t remember any of the negative things that have happened to you, you would forget them after three seconds.

What motivates you and inspires you to get up every morning?

My family. I’ve got a big close family. If I just lay in bed, I won’t see any of them. I’ve got to earn money to help.  I was raised by a single mum so I gotta earn money to help her out.

What’s working at Laser Central like?

It’s quite good, everyone likes to have a good time while they work, we are always telling jokes.
