Employee Spotlight: Cuong Nguyen

At Laser Central we know we wouldn’t be the company we are today without our incredible team. We want our team to know how much we appreciate them and we want our clients to know the faces behind the service we provide. Our monthly ‘Employee Spotlight’ series gives us a chance to showcase the hardworking individuals who make Laser Central what it is.

Last month we interviewed Adam Lownds. This month we spent some time getting to know Cuong Nguyen. Here’s what he had to say;

What is your position at Laser Central?

I am a Senior Programmer.

How long have you been working at Laser Central?

I’ve been working at Laser Central for six years. It’s been great, I like working here.

What do you like about working at Laser Central?

The people here are cool. They definitely make the place. Everyone is easy going and easy to be around.

What terrible movie or TV show do you secretly love?

I don’t think it’s terrible but I like Survivor a lot. I think it’s good but some people hate it. At least I don’t watch the bachelor.

What do you like to do in your down time?

Just hang out with friends and watch movies. I like to keep it relaxed.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Nothing changes if nothing changes. When you’re stuck in a certain situation if you don’t do anything different about it you’ll be in that situation again.

What inspires and motivates you to get up in the morning?

My alarm clock gets me up. I’m not sure if that counts.

If you could have dinner with one person living or dead who would it be?

Kanye West. I think it would be quite interesting. He has a lot to say.

What’s something you are good at that usually surprises people?

 I can eat a lot. I’ve done a few food eating competitions. I know that is surprising to people.

When was the last time you took a risk? Did it pay off?

I put five dollars in the pokies and I lost it straight away. It definitely didn’t pay off.

What is your favourite food?

Easily KFC. I love the hot and spicy chicken, the chips, potato and gravy, everything!

What is your favourite singer/artist/band/?

Kanye West and Taylor Swift. Bit of a difference but I like them both. If I had to pick one it would probably be Kanye West.

What actor would you like to play you in a movie?

I would probably get Will Smith.

If you could be any animal what would it be and why?

I would probably be a turtle because they carry their home around with them. Whenever you’re tired you just go back into your shell. You’re home.

What is your dream holiday?

Probably Japan. There is an all you can eat KFC there. I’d definitely hit that up. And I like the culture as well which helps.
